Miss Ilise

Miss IliseInclusive Classroom Development

Miss Ilise has began working at A Place to Grow in 2016 as a paraprofessional.  Her interest in helping all children succeed in our classrooms has been a tremendous asset.  She works with our teachers to develop alternative activities that work for all children.  Her passion for developing an inclusive classroom has lead her to work on her BA in psychology.

It is important for young children to be in a consistent routine. After all, they can’t tell time, so they know what time it is based on a sequence of events. We make every effort to follow a consistent routine so children can anticipate the next activity.

Daily activities include:

  • Gross Motor Time Inside and/or Outside
  • Circle Time
  • Morning and Afternoon Project
  • Nap time
  • Two Snacks and Lunch

Curriculum and learning opportunities for children are designed to meet the NH K-12 Curriculum Frameworks.

The lead teacher develops a curriculum based on the monthly theme. There is an individual curriculum goal identified each week, which is reinforced by a book of the week, individual projects, and Handwriting Without Tears® practice.

In Pre-K and K:

  • Letter recognition and fluency
